The 15th Desmond Tutu International Peace Lecture was held on 20th November at the Cape Town International Convention Centre, bringing together global leaders, thinkers and social changemakers to reflect on some of the most pressing challenges facing the world today. Centred on the theme “Reimagining Faith, Conflict and Our Shared Humanity in a Fractured World,” the event explored how ethical leadership and moral courage can help rebuild trust in an era defined by inequality, polarisation and rising geopolitical tensions.

Keynote speaker Dr Shashi Tharoor delivered a powerful address that offered a timely, challenging and hopeful appeal for change.

Renowned South African jazz artist Mandisi Dyantyis headlined the musical programme, offering a soulful performance.

The Lecture continues a longstanding tradition of spotlighting moral leadership. Since its inception in 2011 when the Dalai Lama delivered the inaugural address, it has also hosted influential figures including Kofi Annan, Mary Robinson, Melinda Gates and President Cyril Ramaphosa.
