Why monthly support matters

The Foundation is often asked how we are funded, and we believe in being open and transparent about this.

We are an organisation without an endowment. From the very beginning, the Foundation was not established with financial backing from my grandfather, but through the vision and commitment of his friends, the late Dean of Southwark, Colin Slee, and his wife, Edith, with my grandfather’s blessing and moral support. Their intention was to build a living legacy grounded in values, not wealth, and that remains true today.

As a result, the work of the Foundation has always depended on the generosity of individuals who believe in its mission. Donations are not an addition to our work; they are what make it possible. They allow us to convene conversations, support programmes rooted in justice and reconciliation, and carry forward Khulu’s legacy with integrity and care.

Monthly giving is one of the most powerful ways to support the Foundation. Regular donations provide stability, allow us to plan responsibly, and help ensure that our work can continue even in uncertain times. Whether large or small, consistent support makes a meaningful difference.

If you are in a position to become a monthly donor, or to increase an existing contribution, we would be deeply grateful. Your support is an investment in dialogue, dignity, and our shared humanity.

Thank you for standing with us.
